Awesome. Thanks for your guy's impressions. Definitely helped clarify a few things. Makes me tempted to grab a pair of the GR07's for around $140 right now, but I think I might have enough restraint to hold off, haha.

We recently got the re262 and re272 in store and I have to say, I'm impressed. I've decided to sell my IE8's in favor of the re272's. Haven't played around with iem's in over a year (acquired HD800's/HE500's) and I'm curious to see how these hifiman's hold up until the IE800's hit the market!
God I love my 272s
guys give ypurself a test drive with these babies - no more hyped iem like TF10/IE8 etc
give your ears some loooooove
Does any one know where I can find replacement cords for the HiFiMan Re 272? I found a trrs male to trs female but not the other way around. Will anything be damaged if used a trs extension cable?
It's not only TRRS to TRS that you should worry about. I have an Scosche TRRS to TRRS but they don't work for the Hifiman. It's TRRS too but it is soldered to an Mic instead of the earphones cable and music come out only from one earphone. Good luck if you can find any and with a 90 degree angle plug.
I've sent an email to Head-direct trying to get some more TRRS to TRS from them; unfortunately, the guy who takes care of the emails is new, and they're on a break and won't be back until the 4th. I'm trying to get my hands on the 4" TRRS to TRS replacement cord that can be seen in the Hifiman RE-ZERO model.
what is the replacement of the 272 model (with same sound signature and tech. level) ?
since these are being discontinued , and these having being my favourite IEM since i bought them back in september 2011 i did the logical thing - i went and bought a 2nd pair as back-up
i was wondering whether i should get a 2nd pair , but finding a brand new pair of them at amazon.com for 210$ instead of 260$ only made the deal sweeter
and i won't have to shell out 400$ for the re-600 when it comes out (and who knows if it's gonna sound as sweet as the 272 sounds)
damn , i love this iem

Same here, love em.....I just sold my FXZ200's, would like to hear the RE-600 too, too expensive... I just got some new tips I am trying on the RE272, Meelec DF "balanced sound", really sound good, but I still EQ the sub bass/bass at 30hz and 60hz up about 4db.
What tips do you find work best?
I'll get back to this thread with a comparison of the RE-272 and RE-600. It won't be so soon, but I'm hoping before march.
I'm also anxious to see if I prefer the 600's.
Couldn't resist.. Ordered ;)
watch out , you may end up buying a 2nd pair as well as backup afteryou listen to these
so has anyone here changed the filters ? how is it done , how soon should it be done , and what kind of sound improvements does a filter change bring to the table ?
or should i just leave them alone ? i have my pair for almost 1.5 year so maybe they need a filter update
thanx for any feedback on my question here....
could you give us some eq suggestions ? i usually use the stock large bi-flanges or the medium/large sony hybrid
thanx
Is the RE272 vented? Does it leak sound?
