I've been downloading a bunch of stuff from HDtracks recently, and have been able to play the files just fine on my computer (Ubuntu 11.04, with Rythmbox Music Player). I have an iPod Shuffle that automatically syncs with Rythmbox every time I plug it into the computer. Here's where my questions differ from the usual: I want to make sure that the FLAC files from HDtracks are kept OFF my iPod, as they take up too much space.
My question is, do I have anything to worry about because FLAC files are incompatible with iPod, or will those files download if I plug my iPod in?
