What's a tough and long lasting alternative to the iPod and the Zune? - Page 2

Sony X1060 is tough built with great sound quality(built in digital AMPs) and battery life is above average. The others DAPs are recommended like Samsung P2, P3, Kenwood Media KEG, HM-601, HM602 and Fuze.

Sony X1060 has battery drain while off. I sold mine for this very reason. Kept having to recharge the damn thing. Again, most durable DAP I've owned is the Cowon X5.

My T1 should be here next week, but I'm already thinking about the X7 if it doesn't meet expectations. Apple are shooting themselves in the foot by dropping the Classic, but I guess there are a limited number of people who need that much music in their pocket.

Apple didn't drop the classic,...and my iPod classic is user friendly. I can swap out the battery, change the HDD, and I keep it cased cause I'm anal like that.

I agree. It is quite easy to change parts on the ipod classic.

Seems you havent been hanging out in the same men's room as I have. The rumor mill is rife with the news that the Classic's days are numbered.

As of right now it is still rumor. Everyone thought that it would drop with the latest release. Well it is still around. Not saying it will not happen in the future, but as of right now is still a rumor.
