Maybe wait until after you've gotten the TT setup, then pick up another amp and compare the sound.

 

Unless you don't mind spending the money anyway, in which case it's never a bad idea to upgrade gs1000.gif

That last one is probably your best bet for now - it's pretty cheap and has good enough accuracy.

 

 

As for your sound card, each one can be made differently. So maybe if someone knows about yours specifically they'd be able to help. That said, I doubt it - all computer components are designed to be "lazy" and do as little processing as possible, and digitizing it just to re-output it would be counter-productive in achieving that goal.


I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking I can use my ammunition re-loading scale.  Something similar to this:

The only two requirements is that it's as thin as possible (if it's too thick then the arm will be way up in the air, or might not even raise that high), and that it's accurate enough. Ideally you want at least 0.01g accuracy, and 0.1g at most (but at that point it's usually not even worth using).

 

I have no idea how many grams 0.2 grains is :p

The unit I have can be switched to read in grams. I'll have to size it up and see if it's thin enough, but it's pretty compact so it might do the trick.

This was what I used when setting the tracking force. Its a dynamometer.
