Vagn Holmboe: a prolific but little-known Danish composer who died in the 1990s. I only discovered him recently myself, but he is absolutely one of the greats.

Thanks for the tip on this one - he seems just my cup of tea.  He's predictably well-represented on BIS, so I'm lining up some FLACs to download from eclassical the next time they have a sale.

It hits all the notes of the Kol Nidrei but does not do it justice as the words make it that much more powerful.
