Dang it eric, there is just so much stuff of yours I could really appreciate, I really think I'd need to come to you house sometime if that'd be okay. wink.gif

Edit: ehh, scratch that. You have a lot of stuff. I don't know if I'd want somebody knowing where I lived if I had that many great pieces of gear. Perhaps I should think more politely. For you your gear really is a story. It's one of the neatest things I've seen on Headfi. I guess my treat for you will be the MURA QP 300's biggrin.gif

Sooo. my requests for ericj ~ hehehehe.popcorn.gif

I am very interested in many of your DIY amps, cased or not.

BIJOU #1

Millet Hybrid (whichever one sounds better). ;) I really want to hear what those toshiba transistors sound like: oh yess, i doo.. I've been hunting for a pair for my miniMAX.... However... they are long extinct..... ;**( )    by the off chance,  I wonder if you'd sell or trade?

FOSTEX T50rp's please! I am HEAVILY considering / leaning towards making a thunderpants and since there will be a thunderpants here, I think it'd be really neat to A - B them. cool.gif

I know nothing about stax so naturally I want to see and hear as much STAX as I possibly can!

I want to see all of these equally.... Drats! What do you think? On top of what you're bringing is it fairly possible?

Again, if you don't want those toshiba 2SC 2238 y 2SA 968 y I would positively, unequivocally, LOVE to purchase them from you. My dream output transistors... Maybe I'm getting too graphic?...

Thanks for waking up from that HF slumber to begin with Eric!

Ah, the toshiba transistors. I do not recall where i got mine - possibly bdent who is out of stock now. electronix.com claims to sell them but I hear rumors that they are not above selling parts that have been gleaned from old boards by guys in china with blow torches and wire brushes. I once bought some transistors from them which arrived not all the same manufacturer. Worth a shot i guess but buyer beware.

There appears to be some stock available on ebay as well, and not all of it is listed from the far east. I suppose the same caveats apply - may arrive with pre-tinned leads.

I can certainly bring the bijou. My RevMH hybrid is in a state of not quite enclosed. I decided to upgrade from the cigar box and i have a new enclosure picked out but not drilled. I might be able to get to that this weekend though. Come to think of it my mosfet max needs some attention from a drill press as well.

I'll bring all my staxen and try to bring one of my exstata amps. I never finished enclosing those either. Do you see a pattern forming?

My T50 are the 1978 variety. I once borrowed a T50RP from faust2d but that was ages ago.

Off and on I have toyed with the idea of hosting a meet but haven't because my house is a wreck (I bought a fixer-upper in a good neighborhood and then was unemployed more often than not for 3 years), and because of the afore mentioned security issue, and because nobody is going to schlep to orem for a meet.

Maybe some day when the remodeling has progressed substantially I'll host a by-invitation bbq for head-fiers (and akers, maybe) that i've met before and seem to be trustworthy.

It looks like Guitarplayer won't be able to make it unfortunately:

I never knew him, I just saw a few of his posts here on head-fi.

EDIT: We're welcome to bring computer sources, so please do. ; ) Laptop with all your favorite tunes or Desktop with the real score.

VINYL IS ALSO WELCOME:! If you like to hear your Vinyl sound amazing, PLEASE feel free to bring a spin or two. Vinyl on HE-90 could be intriguing...

Utah audio also has some tricks up its sleeve for us.. I'll post more on it when I get the e-mail.

I will definately have two setups - the DAC1->BA->LCD2\DX1000 and an iPod->EF-5->T1\HE-5\770.  And depending on my mood, a third -- an Off-Ramp->DAC1->HD-250->DX1000.  I keep vacilating between bringing this third setup and saying why bother, what's in it for me.  The main issue is that I have to bring it home from work and the subsequent hassle factor, and wondering how many people are going to bail out.

I will have laptops, not desktop computers.

Chairs are doable, but please let us know if we have to bring card tables.

by the by, I have a large variety of DAPs as well. I will try to bring some of the better ones.

Would it be out of the question to bring items for sale? I have some things that i have no interest anymore, but i don't want to step on any toes.

Some of the same stuff I've listed for sale here before, but I have a fairly busy schedule due to my entirely decent job, the combined force of which discourages me from getting excited about small sums of money that i can obtain through negotiation and spending a lunch hour at the post office.

Just saying, for example, I have a K260 Pro that i would let go for $30 if i don't have to put it in a box and mail it. They are entirely decent. A little better than a K240-M. I just don't care very much and haven't listened to them in 2 years.

I have a DT770-Pro-80 in rough shape that could be had for $50. You may only want it for parts. My ears tell me there may be a mismatch between drivers. Note that DT770 drivers cost more than $50 each.

But i also have my K401 which hasn't been picked up since i rebuilt my K500, and i have a near-pristine iRiver H120 (In addition to my trusty old H120 w/ usb charging mod, real-time clock mod, and usb dma mod).

I also have a pair of Koss Cheesephones. perhaps we should just raffle those off.

Meet time - set up is 11:30, and you can listen/chat whenever you want ; ) to get that leg up. Actual listening time should start about 12:00 p.m. midday.. There are no refreshments allowed, but there are a large variety of fast food/resturaunt places a stones throw from the facility.  Or you can fill up before leaving the castle. ; )

Well I see no reason for people to bail out, blasphemy to speak of such things!

- - haha I am having the same feeling though. Well, we do have Ray, Jalo, bdh, Bourneperfect, Hennyo, and EricJ, at LEAST though... And between all of us, that right there is already one hell of a party! I'm quite sure everyone who originally signed up will be there. (+4)

Cherrybomb is not online very often but I have pm'd Jon. I think he'll come if work allows (he's on call), but it's a tentative yes! -- (Post in here Jon!) --

I'm counting on everybody to make to make it though! There is room for all! Oh, I also have a couple more people to invite! I'll do that tomorrow!

Ok, I called Ray yesterday to double check. He's in and it's on. + about 10 headphones, / a bunch of Amps/DAC's and a few people I haven't added to the list.. Gear has not been updated since August 31st.

The meet starts at 11:30 a.m at Utah Audio. (address in OP) Don't forget a fold out table and a powerstrip. If you like, you may also bring your own chair, but I've got it covered.

Tentative listening starts at 12:00 p.m, Midday. Meet wraps ups around 3-4-5 or whenever we're feeling like it's time. Can't wait to meet you. See you all there!
