I have used iTunes for years with various iPod's without any problems, but just recently I noticed that iTunes was adding random data to my ID3 Tags, mostly in the comments field but occasionally in other fields. This wasn't really a problem until I purchased another DAP which didn't like some of the junk that iTunes had added to the tags. So, I used the brilliant MP3TAG to clean up the mess that iTunes had made and to rewrite the ID3 Tags as Version 2.3, now everything is okay and my ID3 Tags are working with all my devices. I will continue to use iTunes for managing my iPod, making sure that I have ticked "copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library", but I would like find an alternative for managing my main library. Can anyone recommend an alternative to iTunes, something that will not mess with my ID3 Tags ? thanks in advance.
