What makes this one better than the W8?

How much is it? Does it only come in white? Has is just been released are you sure?

They just announced it, release should be Q4. What differentiates it from the W8 is that it has higher specs and it's running Gingerbread.

Even though it's not released yet, was just wondering what everyone's thought about it is.

What higher specs? I can't see any apart from a 5MP camera, which is useless, and what is gingerbread?

Can't find any... that's why I'm considering the Walkman W8 as my next mobile phone.

You can always use a LOD and a Fiio E6, should be pretty good sound quality I think, and a nice UI.

Alright, not only the camera was boosted, the CPU and ram as well. The ram amount has doubled and the CPU is a 1ghz CPU instead of the 600mhz on the W8. Which means that it uses the same CPU as their higher end product, such as ARC, NEO, PLAY, PRO, and so forth. It also means a better GPU. With the upping of the spec, it also allows 720p video recording, which the W8 can't do.

As for what Gingerbread is, it's the latest version of Android for phones, 2.3. The W8 uses 2.1(ECLAIR).

Thanks!

You just saved me a lot of time, any word on the pricing of the "Live with Walkman" model then?

Forgot to mention, the "Live with Walkman" has a 0.2" increase in screen size compared to the W8 and has multi-touch, which the W8 doesn't. The phone will release with black and white.

Seeing how the "Live with Walkman" spec is nearly identical to the Xperia Mini, which is currently going for $255 right now, you may expect that it's price range will fall between $200-$240 when released.

You seem to know a lot, a final question then, when can I expect it to be for sale on ebay?

The press release was just today. SE said the phone will release during Q4. No specific date, but knowing how SE is, expect it closer to the end of the year.

If you want to save money, I would not buy it the moment it hits ebay or the net. It's usually a $20-30 mark up, which takes from 2 weeks to a month for it to drop down to it's proper market price. A good place to get the phone beside ebay, would be here, most of the time it's cheaper than ebay:

Before I am a "self-proclaim" audiophile, I was always into computers and mobile phones. biggrin.gif

I used to be into researching mobile phones, but that was years ago, I know nothing about the latest smartphones, so I appreciate your advice.

How far have you come in your "audiophilia" then? If you click on my profile you can see the audio stuff I have, but i don't call myself an audiophile, I don't like that term haha.

Welcome to the forums btw.
