* I have read the other old thread on this topic and does not have the answers i need and i have also read the Denon 1001 recabling thread.
Well, just 10 days after my 1year Creative guarantee expired the right speaker on my CALs has suddenly stopped sounding (no punishment, just stopped). Lucky me.
The cable looks fine, i have opened the earcup and the soldings look fine too. I have plugged it in my pc and my electric guitar amplifier and the problem is still there so i take its a headphone problem.
So my questions are the following:
- How do i know what is the problem exactly? I read the cables are the most common failure and recabling fixes it, but is there any way to ensure that its the cable and not the jack or the driver? (i dont want to buy and fix all the stuff to find out the cable is not the problem.
- Is there any particular cable good for the cals or should i go with whatever cable i can find in my city stores? (i see most people use a mogami model but the cable alone costs more than 1/3d of the total price of the headphones, if you sum all the gear needed to repair it...)
- Can i just follow the Denon 1001 recabling guide step by step? (equipment, parts, etc) I'm a total noob and i don't have any knowledge nor tools aside from the screwdrivers and i doubt i can find speciallized audio parts in my city.
Thanks in advance.
edit: extra question: Should i just bring it to my closest specialist? i bought them for 50 euros i dont want to spend a lot on replacing parts and repairing them to be honest.
