Does that mean that the DT880 would work perfectly with a tube amp? Wouldn't it tame them down a bit?

If the DT880's sound signature is more treble oriented, the tube amp will tame it down and make it sound more laid-back and mellow. Some may like it, some may not. I personally like a sound that has no traits or coloration, so solid state amps for me.
