maybe because if i start it everything has to be muted for wasapi.
and that takes time.
nobody experienced this ?
maybe with soundcard this would be faster ?

A sound card wont have any effect on it unless there is some driver conflict with wasapi/foobar. Question, when you say slow what do you mean? Is it slow to ?startup? Always slow? Is it slow when you move the track slider to different parts of a song?
I don't have to mute anything. Using the WASAPI plugin, as soon as I hit play in Foobar it takes control of the audio stream and everything is muted automatically.
If it's that much trouble, don't use it. It won't improve sound quality with Windows 7 anyway. The point of a bit-perfect plugin in Windows XP was mostly to bypass the audio mixer which resampled everything to 48kHz. That's not an issue with Windows 7, you set your own sampling rate. Or, if you want to keep using the plugin you could try finding your device in the Sound section of the control panel and disable exclusive control. Not sure if that works.
for me muting is also automatically made by foobar but there is a second hang (micro-lag, micro-freeze) when i start a flac from a folder. foobar starts and then 1 sec waiting.
its not that bad but could be faster. maybe the problem is that my computer is too fast (3 ssd in raid 0) and i get used to lightning fast reactions here.
is it really true that wasapi is not beneficial for Win7 ? i didnt know that.
no other program has this slow startup along the low-resource applications like foobar2000. winamp is blazing fast.

Why not set up a library in Foobar? I have nearly 19,000 songs in my library, lossy and lossless, and it starts up and plays songs in less than a second. Look around on the forum/FAQ, or the program's Help menu.
WASAPI is still useful because it sends the audio stream directly from the program to the line out or audio drivers, and bypasses any mixing the operating system does. This was important in XP because the mixer did an automatic and potentially damaging resampling. That doesn't happen in Windows 7, but WASAPI will still bypass any sound effects the mixer is set up to use, and will bypass the digital attenuation caused by system volume set less than 100. Exclusive mode is also handy for people like me who regularly have audio playing 12 hours a day and browse the internet/play games while they listen. No interruptions or screaming ads.
library helped. thanks
New Jriver is worth trying out. It's not exactly lightweight (or foolproof), but has an "event style" WASAPI mode, worth a try - I don't want to put any ideas into your head about what the differences in SQ are but let us know what you think.
