Laxsar,
In my search since the last time, the ST seems to be the the better in overall quality, but there is something that bothers me.
It uses traditional PCI interface, not PCI-e interface like the STX. Since PCI is a bit old now, is there a real chance that in 2-4 years new motherboards don't have PCI interface and so i could loose my investment.
I don't care about 7.1, though it would be nice to have as an option, but it's the last thing that matters to me in this discussion.
Some talk about this 'jitter reduction circuit' on the ST, i don't know how much this affects in common world conditions, since also the measurements of the two seem to be almost identical in the reviews like stereophile(i think that was the name).
Also, i read that there were some issues with playback of some 'intermediary'(= non 96,192 kHz) sampling rates, like 88 kHz on those soundcards. Is this true, if true, was it solved, and, do it matters?
About price, since i'm buying when i travel to europe, i'll buy it on amazon.fr, since i couldn't find any local retailer on Paris that sells it, and so, both have the same price.
