I had this in Headphones (Full Size) it was recommended I move it here.
I used this forum to decide on a pair of SRH440s so I thought it would be best to ask the gurus here about my setup.
I currently have all of my game consoles, (Gamecube, PS2, Xbox 360 & PS3) as well as my main PC which uses a Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty PCI-e sound card, and a secondary PC with onboard audio run through a Behringer Xenyx 1202FX mix board.
The board mixes out to a set of JBL Creature III 2.1 speakers, and currently a Plantronics Gamecon 777 headset. I'm going to replace the headset with my new Shure's on Monday when they show up. My question is, is the mix board going to cause a problem with the audio quality? It's powered through an APC 800VA UPS unit and I actually run the headphones through the primary speaker outputs because I use those more then I use the speakers.
If I need to make changes to how this is setup, can you make a recommendation? The primary use is going to be games, and I listen to a wide variety of music from Andy McKee & Ewan Dobson guitar pieces, to classic/modern rock, to indie alternative and even a mix of hip hop. I don't consider myself an audiophile, this is the first set of "good" headphones I've ever bought, though now this place has me planning on a couple more pairs already. Thanks for all your help.
