A Head-Fi Homage to Marcel Duchamp

The readymades of Marcel Duchamp are ordinary manufactured objects that the artist selected and modified, as an antidote to what he called "retinal art" By simply choosing the object (or objects) and repositioning or joining, titling and signing it, the object became art.

Reminds me of a typical Duchamp tie.

I know they're different people.

Hey, amazing - love the colors, vibrancy, and the photos, going from the piece isolated as art, to the piece in a room with its shapes and colors, to the close ups.

That is pretty brilliant. I think part of Duchamp's goals were though to explode the difference between art as an elitist institution/industry involved in the trading of very expensive and valuable goods, and art as an accessible concept to appreciate simple beauty.

You obviously love your tubes, and it shows in the appreciation you've found for them on display. :)

I just bought three old tube testers on Ebay ... not to test any tubes but to have a complimentary visual and sociological/psychological experience for the tube caddy wall hanging. All three were purchased not because of their worth as testers ... but because of what I found to be their visual appeal ... and how they worked together in terms of color and form. When I place them on my shelf I probably will keep the black/red one in the middle ... but that remains to be seen.
