How does sound transfer from MP3 player to the headphone connected?

I wonder the process is the following:

     1. MP3 files from flash

--> 2. Decoding MP3 to WAV by the processor

--> 3. Now WAV is gonna go through DAC, which turns the digital WAV to analog audio stream

--> 4. the stream goes through op-amp (Can be output from LO jack)

--->5. through headphone amp inside the MP3 Player(out from PO jack)

Is that right ? OR some missing point/process exists?

BTW, I heard the term pre-amp, post-amp. What roles do they play in the process?

Plus, is the headphone amp we usually talk about a pre-amp, post-amp, OR integrated model for both?
