Not sure what that meant, but figured it meant not sure if coming to US at all. I would not buy the 64GB model because I am only using mine around the house. But, if Sony offers a 64GB model, if I want I can send mine back and order that one with the same great financing deal (no interest spread over 12 months). That is, if they offer it before 30 days.

Hopefully they will do the 64gb for you, can never have enough storage even if for just round the home ; )

If I remember rightly the X in the states only had 16gb model to start with and it took quite a time for the 32gb to finally reach your shores, so will most probably be same scenario again.

Did the A846 come with a plastic slot cover for the Sony charger/sync docks by any chance?

It has got the plastic dock base for proper fit.

If I do end up with the 64, it will take me a week to choose the music for it. As it stands, I am at 4GB left to fill (working on it today, as I want to fill and forget it for now. Just listen).

No worry's look forward to some impressions on the SQ once you have had some quality time with it. Enjoy....

Thank you, it's nice to see Sony still consider them fitting these docks each time they release a new model.

Do you have a link for the site that has it listed as possibly getting it in stock? popcorn.gif

No, I should of explained  it a bit more accurately but forgot the proper name to describe the  little plastic dock base cover, good news that it does anyway's. ; )

Quite unbelievable though it may seem, there is no support for gapless playback!

I've just received mine from Amazon, and I've got to say the sound quality is pretty amazing for a portable gizmo. But I listen to classical music so lack of gapless support is a serious flaw. All the high tech wizardry in this player and they f-ck it up with an oversight like that! :-(

Depressing and disappointing.

Sony, please come out with a 64GB version of this and I am sold!

Ya, even the Sansa Fuze+ offers gapless playback.  It's a shame Sony hasn't jumped onboard.  But the Zune didn't either which was also a surprise.

I still can't quite believe it. In fact, I used to have an earlier 4GB Sony Walkman from the lower end of the range which I'm fairly sure supported gapless playback - a 2008 model I think - which makes this especially incomprehensible!! confused.gif

All the NWZ Sony Walkman devices are only gapless with .WAV - and that's it. The NW Japanese models are gapless w/atrack.

That might be the case now, but I'm almost certain my NWZ-E436F was gapless with LAME MP3s...

My NWZ-E345 and S545 that I no longer own, and my current S639, no gapless to be found on any of them.

Maybe I'm mistaken then. I gave the player to my mum so I can find out easily enough!

Still weird that a player like the A865 hasn't implemented gapless support though. The technology's in the public domain, and since there's a perfectly decent MP3 player built into everyone's mobile phone these days, a PMP costing £129 needs to be stellar...

Although I'm raring to get the 64gb of this player, if it's not supporting gapless AND if has a cap on volume then I'm not considering even reading about it.
