Securing an LED to metal panel

Thread Starter

I have a front panel with 3 pre-drilled mounting holes for LEDs. They fit perfectly but are only held in by friction and I'd like to stick a dab of some adhesive / sealant around the base to ensure they can't be pushed in if pressure is applied from the front.

The panel is regular old aluminium and the LEDs are 5mm through hole type, what kind of glue would work for that?

I've no idea what that is I'm afraid - is it something cyanoacrylate based? If that's a brand then it might not be available here in the UK. confused.gif

Krazy-Glue is a brand name, but yes its just a generic cyanoacrylate glue.

If the holes are large enough you can buy purpose made panel mount LED holders.

It's a brand, and yes it's cyanoacrylate based. They're available off Amazon.

I have found silicon-based caulk works well. It can also be reversed rather easily over any other adhesive.

Also cheap and widely available.

If you weren't in the UK I would recommend this as well:

They work very well.
