Cavalli Audio Liquid Fire - Page 148

There are a lot of headphones that I haven't heard. And I own one headphone that I didn't really like and hardly ever used. That is the Sennheiser HD 650. That headphone came alive with the LF.

Listening to Rod Stewart's version of "Twistin' the Night Away" on the LF and it's just killing it.  Low end galore!!

Been listening to Leagues - YOu belong here on the LF  ANd Stick Figure for some rasta goodness..  Its not the last word in resolution by a long shot due to the Modi and the dBel84 modded Yamaha HP-1, but it sure is a musical delight.

Will there be a Liquid Fire MkII?

This word from db at Cavalli Audio dated 11-04-2013:

Hi Thailand

I know that this project was placed on the "back burner" and will at some point be re-invented.  There is nothing in the immediate future but Alex has been talking about revisiting the circuit design.  I can tell you it will not be the same amplifier in a new chassis.  Knowing how long it takes from design - prototype - production, it will be at least a year if anything were to come out of this.

He was working on an mkII for awhile but I think he realized it didn't hold up next to the LG and LAu.

Don't ever give up! Those amps are of a different class and should never be lumped together. Don't abandoned the LF.

X2 Clayton.  LF is great.  I had the LAu for a week and it was spectacular but it's double the price too!  The LF is an incredibly musical, resolving, satisfying amp.

Oooops, there goes my wallet.....................

They are in a different class, for sure. That's the problem. An amp
that costs a few bucks (relative to the price) more is way better (LF
vs LG). He has to get the cost of the LF down or not do an mkII, IMO.

It's a good amp, but it doesn't hold up as well anymore. I wouldn't
mind owning one again, but I wouldn't be paying full price for it over an LG.

The LAu would be that.  Just don't have the funds now.  It is mucho better by a ways.

Completely agree.  The LF is still a very nice amp with a nice set of ecc88 in.....just not playing in the same playing field as the other amps (like his Liquid Glass) in the same price range.  The Liquid Glass....I just find every excuse I can to listen to the bad boy (no pun intended on the 52' sylvanias). :)

I am the original owner of a LF and it cost me $2500 in 2011. A new LG is $4000. How can that be in the same price range? At any rate you made me look at the LG and I may be ordering one now. :( :) ;)

LFs were 3250 I believe. Clear out LGs were what ...3500?

All depends on when you bought I suppose.
