I was at FreeGeek today and tried to spy where the new digs are. Is it the new space on the SW corner of Oregon Roofer's Supply? Or is it inside?

My vote's or that.

... for one, dogwan said he was kidding, second, being SE, you can find plenty of places filled with blue collared workers drinking a beer after a hard day in t-shirt and jeans. The stereotyping BS has ruined SE (and portland) recently more than the people themselves. People actively avoid the area simply because of the hipster hype. I've been into the lucky lab a couple times, albeit when it wasn't busy, and the people working and eating there seemed pretty normal and nice. Maybe I'm mistaken, but chalking it up as "hipster" as opposed to maybe the owners being jerks or the food being crap seems unfair.

This is why I really hate the hipster label, it gets tossed around at random so much it could apply to anyone. This doesn't even describe a hipster by portland standards - that would require only listening to vinyl and roasting your own beans (oh wait, that describes a bunch of head-fiers). tongue.gif

For the record, I never mentioned Hipsters in my post. I'm annoyed by people of all types! LOL.

Seriously though, the Lucky Lab is a fine place. It's just that I ate lunch and drank dinner there so often for years that the honeymoon is over. On the up side being able to have your dog on the back patio is awesome. And the beer is actually pretty **** good (from what I remember).

I know you didn't, and I wholeheartedly agree. ;)

Fair enough, it was my mistake for not being more clear. As a college student with tight jeans I probably shouldn't speak. On the more on-topic note, I am with Austin Morrow, it does still seem like a slim turnout for a good city. I do hope it grows.

I'm sorry everyone, I won't be able to attend : (

I'm helping out with a rummage sale at a non-profit I volunteer at and evidently there is too much overlap in regards to the time.

Hope it goes well!

Ken,

No AC?  How can you treat your employees like that - and now your guests?  rolleyes.gif

Sorry I can't make it.... but the Audeze Edition Amp shipped today, so it will arrive on Saturday by Noon.

Have a good time, everyone!
