Hello.
I have been doing some testing with headphones vs. speakers. My speakers have a tested usable range to 15hz and my headphones 25hz.
After some experimentation, I find I need a stronger house curve (environmental bass compensation) with my headphones than with my speaker. My headphones are naturally a bit weaker in the bass than the speakers, but I am saying I need the perceived response with sine waves to be stronger in the bass with the headphones than with the speakers for the bass to sound similar with real music.
My guess is that this is related to the tactility associated with speaker bass that you don't get with headphones.
Who else the same experience?
