Hi guys!
Please give some reviews on the mentioned subject.
Thanks a lot!
I listen to all musics. Sound quality is important to me.
So far, i am just a beginner for audio so i didn't own any dac and amp but i am willing to purchase them.
No headphones and thus keen to obtain one of them. >.<
Budget should be around SGD500 to 600. I am from Singapore.
Semi Portable and semi noise isolation is acceptable for me.
Are you a classical lover btw?
Yes. Loved them a lot. Sometime, I feel that classical musics are the real sound of music!
Of the ones you listed the B&W P5 are really the only portable option. Both the AKG K701 and Sennheiser HD650 are open headphones so they leak sound and let sound in. They also like to have an amp to sound their best.
What will you be plugging these headphones into?
Dear ocswing,
If said, i am willing to use them for home listening only. So, which will be better?
After i bought B&W MM-1, i started and wanted to invest in audio. Sound is so interesting! Wuahahha!
If you're looking for something to work with all genres I'd probably go with the Sennheiser HD650 out of the three. The AKG K701 is nice, but has less bass which makes it not great for some rock, hip hop, electronica. Both really need a good audio chain (source/dac/amp) to sound their best so keep that in mind when looking at prices.
Dear Head Injury,
Will plug them in laptop system. Wish could get some portable dac and amp.
Dear ocswing,
It seems like HD650 is a great headphone. Went through many reviews, HD650 is really impressive but with usd500 and boots with good amp/dac = nearly usd1k... it gives me pause a bit.
YoengJyh: maybe you could consider in-ear phones (aka "IEMs"). That would work well without an amp, and is portable + isolating.
It shouldn't be hard to find a pair for sale secondhand.
Dear Eric_C,
Headphone seems Pro a bit~
Ok, whatever works for you.
Try bringing your laptop or mp3 player down to Jaben or Stereo and listen to the headphones there--it's a much better, more efficient way to find a pair you want.
Dear Eric_C
Wow, just noticed that you are from SG too. Our audio equipment's price in sg is kinda expensive compare to Europe. Unacceptable...
