How secure is the diaphragm in the Senn 650s

A quick question following on from my previous thread about fitting the Zu Mobius cables to my 650s.

I am assuming that the extreme pushing that I had to do to get the left connector into the socket will not have moved the diaphragm within the left phone, as it seems to be that the connector pushes into the diaphragm housing itself.

Has anyone dissected a HD650 (or 600 if they are similar in construction) and seen how solid and securely the diaphragm is fitted. Is it likely that it could move from pushing very hard on the connector socket, or is it pretty solid?

Just getting paranoid I guess but any insight may help me to sleep

Thanks.

Don't worry a bit..... the socket and diaphragm are in the same housing....... you can remove the entire housing and it looks like a small lollipop.

No way that you'll move the diaphragm......... no way at all.

The HD650 cable holders appear to be very solid, and may be spring-loaded which would explain your odd experience. The Diaphragm is very solid and well-attached: at bass heavy SPLs which would have blown out the DT770's drivers, the HD650s deliver a neutral unstressed sound. The drivers do not rattle at all whatsoever. This is quality.

Cheers,
