I stand corrected. I wonder why they don't ship with the lower output impedance as standard.

To quote the DACmini page:

"DACmini CX comes with 10 Ohm headphone output impedance. We feel that it offers the most musical sound. Users have described it as 'warm' and 'analog-like'."

My biggest gripe with the DACPort is it's limited output options. As I've stated in the OP there's already a separate amp in my setup and I'm actually very happy with the amp itself - therefore my goal would be to have a standalone DAC feeding my amp, ideally through RCA out. Additional balanced out would be handy as well for future upgrades, and multiple input options to feed the dac from different players are desirable too - I would like to keep the headphones plugged in at the same piece of equipment while being able to select different inputs.

All this being said: would it even be a recommendable improvement over my sound card? popcorn.gif
