Audio Newbie In Need of 2.1 Speakers

Thread Starter

I need something under $250, preferably around $200.

I basically have this set-up, except the desktop is under the desk, and the monitor is twice as wide.

I'd like something that is clean, square, and will blend in. My computer has blue, black, green, and beige ports, I'm assuming that's standard, so I don't know if I have wiring dilemmas to solve.

I was thinking of getting these:

As well as some sort of subwoofer.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've been using some Altec Lansing 4.1 speakers for about 12 years and I like them alot. They are pretty loud, and have a clean sound for the money. They leave a small footprint on the desk and the sub is big enough for computer use. They were like 150 bucks back then. I would avoid Bose, since the dolar to performance ratio is awful.

Hmm usually at this price point i would suggest amp + bookshelf or active monitors and a hifi sub but Canada i am not too sure so if u really want 2.1 boxed PC Speakers these would be my suggestion

Klipsch Promedia $199

Swans M10 ??

Edifier S330D $126

Microlab FC330 ??

i think the Edifier and Klipsch are readily available in Canada They may vary greatly in price but offer one of the best price/performance for the SQ they dish out IMO
