It's not that bad, the 1st gen mini is filling up nicely so far.  Also ordered another 2nd gen pink lol Mini to do some more testing and fun things with it next week. :)

I'd be interested to know if you can get to 30,000 songs on the 2nd gen Mini with the 256gb PNY and Apple firmware.

Interesting... Supposedly once you get too many entries in the .db file the iPod doesn't work any longer. A few 3rd party iPod management utilities have the ability to compress the database so you can get more music on the iPod. I'm not entirely sure how they do it.
