Not 100% sure but I intend to believe so. Man sorry for all the dramas you had with this card.

If anyone is selling one please PM,thank you.

Komputerbay 128 gig compact flash on amazon for £84 (different ones available for different ud speeds).  The nice thing about amazon is that you can return if it doesn't work.  It installed on my mini but I think I knackered the cable as it was fairly unstable.

Thanks cotton. What speed is your card? Also you can get the cables for mini on ebay quite cheep. Also if the Compact Flash card doesn't give a 15+hours playback on the mini is not worth it..When I was using a SD to CF class 4 adaptor with a 128 SDXC inside class 10 I was getting around 6 hours of playback, considering I had a new 1500 milliamps new battery installed in my mini 2 Generation. The adaptor takes too much juice, so I am hoping playback time will be much longer on CF.

What puzzles me is you got the card restored to the 7g and at one point you even copied 80GB to the card, then suddenly it didn't work. So I am assuming the card got corrupted during the file writing.

I know!

I just tried something different and booted into Linux and tried GParted, that program identified the card as only one partiton of 127.9gb it formatted but cannot be initialized (whatever that means) then booted back into Windows and windows prompted me to format the card. Like I said it only shows one partition, no other partitions in it to merge, delete or format. Very weird.

Last time after I formatted mine it showed the 137GB with one partition only. That didn't mean it had 2 partitions and the other one was hidden. Just the card reader couldn't read capacity beyond 137GB.

If you can get to show the 137GB under Windows, then go ahead with another attempt on restore to the 5.5g only.

I will try with the 5.5th one more time this weekend, but I don't reallly have any hopes anymore. The new memory card reader is top notch and still with it I didn't get any different results.

I gave the card another try in the iPod 5.5th gen and no joy. Tried five times to restore it with iTunes and every time it failed. Now to wait until I can get a replacement, this will be a slow process because I am afraid I will need to send it back and wait to be received by Wellcore before a replacement is shipped to me.

Don't know yet, first I need to wait until they return from their holiday on the 6th and talk about how we are going to do about the RMA. They offered my money back, but hey I want that 256gb CF card!

Might it be quicker to take the money, send the card back and get another? Just a thought. The one thing you don't want is to be stuck with a defective card and paid for another though!

This is the card reader I used to format mine without issue. A very old card reader which I bought long time ago for my camera.

That might be a better idea, let's see what options they will give me when they come back. I emailed them but got an out of office email and I haven't heard about them.

Very interesting, I look up the manual for your card reader and it shows that it's from 2008. That debunks the UDMA 7 card reader compatibility theory that was mentioned before by some.  If you were closer to me I would send you the card just to test it on your card reader.

I am not concerned about losing the money invested as I know the Wellcore team will take good care of me.

One thing I will ask them is to save any hassle I will need them to actually open the package and thoroughly test the card before sending it to me.

Yeah that card reader was bought probably 5 yrs ago. Both that card reader and my office Dell studio xps' built-in card reader were able to detect and format the card.

PM me if you want to send the card over for a test, but my feeling is you may likely have a corrupted card since you have tried it on two card readers already.
