Battery life seems to be the same as it was with the original HDD and yes, while youre in there throw in a larger battery to help out.

How's it holding up Reima?

It's holding up just fine, I have been using it every day since the 240GB mSata was installed.

Final update on the mSATA/RB issue

This is the latest from Torne ....

"Nothing I tried helped any more with the device I had. The patch I wrote to adjust the timings back to the standard values may well work for some people, but it doesn't resolve all the issues with the specific drive/adapter I was testing. I've returned the ipod to the owner now, and am unlikely to work on this further; we may or may not actually commit the patch, someone needs to do a thorough test of the performance impact on a regular iPod drive.."

I had that happen to me and the problem was the two plastic cover that are located next to the 30 pin connector which insulates some tipe of transistor or resistor that is at the bottom of the motherboard.

Check they are not upside down.
