Yes that and CF to SD adapter..

I was told that Rockbox should work fine on it. I really don't get the difficulty of making it work on SD cards, it's storage just the same.

Might need to write to the Rockbox devs to see if there is a solution...

Rockbox perse doesn't work with the iPod classic, you will need to try EmCORE

Lol really?

I didin't think of that...

How do you expect I ran Rockbox on it when I had the HDD installed? It wasn't steam powered lmao

I returned the mSATA drive to Amazon and give up on this option for my 5.5g's. In the end the trouble-free & reliable 128GB CF option works the best for me.

Unfortunately I'm not sure that 256gb CF cards even exist... Plus the pictures of the card are of a 32gb model. I did get excited at the possibility though, lol.

On that note, Amazon seems to have lexar 256gb SD cards in stock at the unfathomable price of 608 bucks. Clearly that option won't be viable for some time to come. For the curious though:

Walmart has the refurbished 7th generation iPod Classic 160gb for $159 - and $3.97 for shipping - this won't last. A month ago they had them and they were gone in a day.

If anyone is interested - based on the "reviews" they look new - so no ugly scratches on the back.

Wow, getting Rockbox on the 5G Video is so easy and my 64GB SanDisk Ultra Micro SDXC works perfectly.

Now my 6G Classic can take a hike and stop pissing me off!

What's the transfer speed you are getting with that card?

Thank you. Thank you all. Starting to bump up against my iPod 80gb 5.5g limit and found this thread. Was wondering what to do next. Also own a 60gb 5G so I've got some great options to play with. Did I say thank you?

I am really tempted to try a 256GB CF card (custom made especially for my iPod 5.5g wink_face.gif ). I have faith in the CF option especially for rockbox.

Capacity:256GB

Speed:167MB/s=1100x

FLASH control: SMI

Compatible with the UDMA 7.0 and CF 6.0

Operating voltage: 3.3V

Anything else I need to tell the manufacturer for the order?
