Hmmm... While my current 5.5 Gen is still open, what is this cap upgrade you are referring to? Where can I find more details on this upgrade?

The caps (Kemet, Silmic, Wima, etc) are used to diymod ipod 5.5g by bypassing the junks between the dac and the lod.

For more info about the diymod .....

Huh, I see. That makes sense, but does that only improve the sound from the headphone jack output? I will literally never be using the headphone output jack and only getting audio through an LOD and into an E17 or some other setup via the dock output.

If you read the first post thoroughly, you'll find that it does nothing to the headphone output.  It only affects the line-out.

Which one is the mSATA adapter that you are using? Make sure you push the zif cable all the way into the connector before locking it in place.

Anyone got a way around this?

I know what is your problem, your iPod is the 6th generation one not the 5.5th gen.  The mSATA adapter doesn't work on the 6th and 7th gen iPods. (I tried it on both)

Nope it's not that, I'm using a CF SD adapter.

Oh and stock Apple firmware works fine, it's just Rockbox that won't boot for some reason.

Are you using the iFlash Video iPod Compact Flash Adapter (mk2)?
