HELP!!

i have a pair of HD598 and i love them. if i connected my cmoybb to my macbook pro i should do it through a DAC right? because if i dont i will only be powering the headphones and not improving quality from the headphone jack is this correct? sorry im a noob!

With the cmoy, you'll be imposing less of a load on the macbook's output circuit, because the high input impedance of the cmoy is higher than the impedance of the headphones. So any degradation of the macbook's output that occurs because of current draw with headphone loads might be negated by having the cmoy. That said, it seems like the macbook's output is pretty well-regarded, so maybe it doesn't really need an amp. A standard cmoy won't have any issues of its own driving those headphones, though, so if you can't hear a difference and want to be sure, just use it.

Interesting.  So for intruding but I would like to hear your impressions on the HD 598 with the CMoyBB, the CMoyBB seems like a great budget amp and it seems to get great reviews.
