Hi

Im looking for a soundcard to replace the ALC892 on my motherboard.

What it will be used most for is movies and gaming.

The cards iv been looking at is X-Fi Titainium (820 sek / 127 usd) and ASUS Xonar DX (738 sek / 114 usd).

You realy have to love the VAT in Sweden.

However as im likley to buy a Ear Force DSS 7.1 later im leaning towards the X-Fi.

That way ill be able to try out CMSS-3D and Dolby Headphones for my pc.

Is there any other card i should be looking at around this pricerange ?

Fellow swede here...

I've got an Asus Xonar Essence STX myself, and I'm happy with it. Since your headphones wouldn't benefit much from amping, it'd be better to grab the DX than the Essence, so I don't really know why I'm talking about them.

I don't know about the 7.1 part, but I only have good experiences with Asus.

Edit: edited a bit, too inexperienced with surround to be talking about it.

Just saw that the X-Fi Titainium Pro is 862 sek so now im trying to decide between that one and Xonar DX.

As the Titanium Pro looks to be mutch shorter in length im realy starting to lean towards that one.

im not sure if the Xonar would fit on my mis p67a gd55 without hitting the ram / sysfan power pin.
