yeah, i bought some off my friends dad who was a musician from the surfari's. bought em for 70 bucks, in great condition, best 70 i ever spent! i just recently picked another pair up off e-bay, for my younger brother. 40 bucks, smelling terribly of smoke. good condition. completely worth it, though. the best part is their clarity, best highs, amazing mid, pretty decent lows. i have fallen in love with their sound. =) clear is key. =)

Was sent over here from another thread by nycedie - very cool to see pictures and read about these cans. What I'm curious about though - I have a gnawing suspicion these are Koss OEM'd, a few things tip me off to that:

- It says "stereophone" on the box, not "headphone"
- The Ti elements
- The in-line volume control

Overall it just looks like a lot of Koss headphones (sorry, "stereophones") that I've seen - would be very interested to see more pictures or get my hands on a pair. smily_headphones1.gif

You're in luck obobskivich as I'm going to auction on ebay my new in opened box and tested Te-100.  However, if you are interested you can have them for $40 shipped.  I bought them in case I couldn't fix the short in the cable of my Te-400 (originally sold for $139) and even though I have another Te-400 as backup, the Te-100 were offered as new in the box so I bought them.  But I did fix the short in the Te-400 and I also removed the in-line volume controls which allowed me to radically reduce the volume on my CD player from maximum to just above minimum.

I could not hear the difference between the Te-100 and the Te-400 so it must have been the in-line volume control which made them more expensive.  Let me know if we can make a deal so write to me at nyceddie@gmail.com.  I'll accept a USPS Money Order or your personal check which I'll deposit and once it clears I'll mail you the headphones.

They might just become your main headphones regardless of what you are presently using.

Bought a pair of these for $15 a few days ago.

These are very good headphones.

Built like a toy, but very natural sounding, incredibly clean, easy to drive, absurdly fast, huge precise soundstage. However, the sound has this odd "heat" to it and the bass is overblown; I suspect an opened bass port that should've been closed. They also sound "cupped" because of the lack of damping and the hole in the back for the cup pivot joint.

I'm curious what these drivers can do in an open shell. Also, they definitely aren't a KOSS OEM, these were made way before KOSS was using titanium.

After some playing around the sound seems to lose its "magic" when the drivers are transplanted into another shell, which is rather disappointing because my ATH-6D would've been a nice fit.

I tried adding a pair of cotton discs to the earcups to calm the bass down, but I was unfortunately met with mixed results. Bass is now in check, the heat is gone, and the high treble comes out of hiding. Impact is great, soundstage remains wonderful, but the sound gets thin, sort of tinny, kind of... wrong. Odd that such a pooly constructed headphone would be at 100% in stock form... I must do more tinkering.
