I'm just an all around audiophile. I probably have the same story as everyone else. Growing up most people got their music from pirating and what not, and I'd constantly listen to peoples music selection (to immerse myself into the different genres, styles, ect.) and the one thing that kept turning me off was that every single song was compressed and over driven to hell (god knows how people turn music into something like that and can enjoy it). Over time I started getting more and more into live sound using good quality speakers, amps, and especially full quality audio files (WAV's most of the time). And now it's just become an addiction, i help doing live sound for electronic dance music events and have always been a fan of how sound works. Then I started producing and of course I had to buy some mid-high end monitors (Mackie HR824mk2's and another pair of cheap krk rokit 5's) and haven't really done much production but really love just listening to music. But what I really am here for is to get into head-fi and also just the science of how sound works. Glad to be here, i can already tell we have a lot in common. lol.
