There probably is tons of posts like these  somewhere around this fantastic forum, so if there is just put me there :)

If not!

What cable can i use? i know there are different quality of course but for the basics lets call em copper wire?

I got basic soldering skills so i think i´l manage that part.

You need one cable for the driver itself and one for the ground on each ear cup? Or is that different among headphones as well?

What i mainly need to fix is my Senn Hd200 and some superlux cans i just ordered :)

Best regards!

If you want to recable the Senns, you need to find the appropriate plugs for them. I think someone manufactures them, but can't remember who. Someone here should know. (They do detach - give them a firm tug.)

You can use any wire you want.

Also, if you're soldering directly to a driver BE SURE to heatsink it. They're delicate and easily damaged by heat. For delicate jobs, I use a copper alligator clip (couple dollars) with about a foot of heavy-gauge (14 or smaller) copper wire soldered to it. The clip takes the heat off the wire going to the delicate part and a foot of heavy wire will take some time to heat up. If you can get in and make the joint in a few seconds, it's difficult to damage the driver with heat.

Thanx for the info!

Do you know how the ground etc works with headphones? Ive build speakers and made cables for them with many different materials but i have never poked around inside a headphone before :)
