In any case, can't wait for the next one!

Well I had a fun time.  I was hoping for more folks, but the folks who did come were very cool.

I also wanted to thank the organizers of this meet. It was my first meet and really my first chance to hear any high quality rigs. I now know that I am consumed with getting together a decent LCD-2 rig sometime in the next year. Plus it was just great to be able to put some faces to the names of people whose posts I read all the time. And it was a nice experience to talk headphones with such knowledgeable people. I really did learn a ton in the few hours I was there.

I can't wait to get to another meet where I can hopefully stay longer and contribute some equipment of my own.

Another sincere thank you to Larry and John for pulling this together.  Also, loved all of the photos.  It's nice to be able to kick back the day after and remember what / who was there.

I'll also have to echo a previous comment...  Larry is a very funny guy :)

As usual I spend more time chatting with people than listening.  The few things I did focus on was the O2 Mk1 vs Mk2 (with Spritzer's Mod).  First off, I love O2's.  I've always preferred the Mk1 to Mk2, but I have to say that the mod'd Mk2's sounded closer to the Mk1's than I remember (no straight Mk2's at the meet to directly compare).

On the dynamic side of the house I'm really starting to fall for the LCD-2's.  I didn't have a chance to compare directly with the HE-6 (even thought they were sitting next to each other).  I'm probably biased towards the planar technology (over traditional dynamics) since I've had a pair of Maggie's for the last two decades.  I did also have a chance to listen to the HD-800's.  I definitely enjoy these and could spend quite a bit of time listening to them.

I also had a chance to meet and chat with Vinnie from Red Wine.  It's true what other people say about him... What a nice guy!

I agree that it was a low turnout, but I still saw it as a quality meet :D

Thanks for a great meet, it was a lot of fun listening to gear and talking with you guys!

One thing: The Red Wine Audio systems were FANTASTIC, especially the Aude'ze Edition.  It was definitely one of the clearest and most intimate DAC/amps I've heard.  Their transparency is completely on a different level!  Definitely my favorite two setups of that day.

First, a big thank you to Larry and John.  This was one great meet.  The gear a this meet was just fantastic with Red Wine Audio, the Apex Pinnacle plus the chance to listen to some truly outstanding headphones.  Very glad I didn't miss this one. smily_headphones1.gif

Thanks Larry and John for setting this up. And Wedge for bringing all that great gear.

My favorite was Frank's stax setup (Reference 7 -> SRM 717 -> O2 MK1). I never heard stax before but now I'm on the hunt. It was a light, effortless, and detailed sound that made me come back to this setup a few times. Thanks Frank for taking all the time to talk to me about stax. I'm starting to wish I didn't hear it.

The setup that had my toes tapping the most was the WA 5LE and the HE-6. Very musical and had a very addicting sound.

I really liked Chris's Berkeley Alpha DAC and W4S DAC. I wish I could have heard the Berkeley paired with the Pinnacle but at least I got some time with the Pinnacle and HD800, which was nice but I don't think I had enough time with it to say I heard the magic that this combo is supposed to bring out. I've been researching the Berkeley DAC for the last few months so being able to hear it was great - thanks again Chris.

And Vinnie's RWA Isabellina with the HE-500 was a treat. There was good synergy going on there. And then I listened to the Audeze Edition DAC/amp with the LCD-2s (looked like rev1?) and the K1000s. The LCD-2 and RWA Audeze Edition were really really nice. There was a coherency in the sound - obviously they were made for each other. I recently received my Liquid Fire and based on my brief time with both, the RWA Audeze Edition had more impact and the Liquid Fire has more air. This might have to do with the fact that I am now using a rev2 LCD-2 with the Liquid Fire and the sources are different. After hearing the RWA, I would be happy with either the Liquid Fire or the RWA with my LCD-2. Vinnie - great job, and Larry - enjoy the RWA with your K1000s.

I enjoyed meeting and chatting with everyone, Larry, John, Vinnie, Frank, Sphinxvc, and others.

Because of work I arrived late and could not get to hear all of the top end equipment.  But I did get to listen to Clapton's "No Alibis" on the Red Wine amp with  LCD 2's and it sure sounded nice.  Would love to have it... but you can't have them all and the Stax 007's kind of stole my heart.  I'm a '60's rocker and the 'Stones "Aftermath" was on and I've never heard anything better than them Stax.  I'm a DIY kind of a guy and will be on the look out for some eXtrata PC boards to build a amp and than get myself a pair of 007's.

Thanks everyone for bringing your equipment in and allowing us all to sample the "high end".  And a special thanks to those who set up the meet

it was very much appreciated.  Hopefully next year all is well and I'll have a table...

Thank you for all the great pictures and impressions.  The gear looks really great.

Could someone identify this amplifier?  The meters and those quad of large tubes look truly awesome!!!!

First off a BIG thank you to John and Larry for organizing the meet and an even BIGGER thank you to Larry who spent a considerable amount of time (time that I'm sure he would have prefered to use to listen to try new amps/hf lol) explaining the pros and cons of grados and the importance of creating good room synergy with home theater speakers.

The 3 things in this meet that really pulled me in where

1) Vinnys Audeze Edition set-up with the upcoming RWA CD-T1 tranport.  Lets just say that garaging my only car for a year so that I wouldnt need to pay insurance so I could buy this awsome setup was crossing my mind continuously while I was listening to it.

2) The combo of the Shiit Lyr and Beyer DT770 with my rock music was mind blowing and I would have sat there all day if people didnt keep stealing my seat ha

3) listening to the Grado HF2 with my portable setup (imod + rsa p51 mustang) was a real treat (HF2 are pretty rare if im not mistaking) and I am hoping to pick up a pair soon.

Anyone this was my second New Jersey meet and i can't wait till next year

It seems like you guys had everything but that combo, congrats on a great meet!
