People in the Czech Republic beat the Australian deal..
In the Czech Republic you can pick them up for 1,360.00 CZK which is 37 US you can see for yourself here http://www.elektrocigler.cz/zbozi.asp?KatID=36. I guess that in Europe you can get a good deal contrary what we used to believe.

WTF! They charge 2 720,00 Kè for the HP910, that's twice the price of the HP890!

Planar...just ring Philips...they can get one of their reps to call you back with details of who has the 890s in stock. Otherwise Philips will give you a list of all those who carry Philips headpones (nearly every electrical store in Melbourne from memory) so you should have no trouble ordering them in.

Actually...Philips accessories are distributed by a group called "Crest". Crest can be contacted on 1800 773 539. Places that carry Philips headphones are Harvey Norman, Betta Electrical, HMV amongst others. RRP is AUS$149.95 which is about US$80. Looks like you got yourself a sweet deal Buddha!!

What do you think the strengths and weaknesses of the HP890s are? Did you agree with Jan's findings?

i really hope HP890 has the performance that Jan quoted. Since I target it as my replacement for Grado phone. I just don't like the sound of grado, but other phones are hard to driven.

by the way, hi guys in aussie, what headphone amp you guys using? since we don't lot of choice down under, finding the perfect amp must be tear breaking huh??

According to this thread, these phones will never be imported to the US and will be discontinued in the middle of this year. That's too bad.
