Where can you order Philips HD890 in the US?

Some austalians said they got these phones for ~US$60. Is this true?

I will order these off meier-audio tomorrow otherwise, for US$100, and I imagine I still will have gotten a good deal.

possibly.

I took one look at the pictures of these headphones and thought "hey wait a second, sometimes I wear headphones for over 12 hours at a time, these would sure feel nicer than grados . . ."

so I'm decided. yay!

i think buddha got em for around $110 australian. which is about US$55.

i don't think he lied about it- what would be the motive?

senners, grado, heck... even koss are overpriced here in oz, so it's about time we aussies got a deal that the americans will be envious about.

I ordered mine for a price of $51... yes, it is possible for things to be cheaper in Europe and Australia..

So, we have established that they are half as cheap in australia as they are elsewhere in the world.

Now the question is: would they ship to the US, how much would the import cost, and how long would it take?

I dunno, I'm thinking meier-audio is my best bet.

(grr I meant australians, I don't think they lied or I wouldn't have created the thread. I imagine that things made in the eastern hemisphere are cheaper in australia than they are in the US anyways -- I'm just wondering what australian stores would ship to the US, since I'm having trouble finding these cans for sale ANYWHERE but meier-audio, and it is possible that $51+overseas shipping < $100 shipped)

I don't think www.Bluemarx.se ships to the US, not that it matters anyway - for some reason they halfed their headphone line up and the HP890 is no longer sold there.... perhaps that's why they never asked me for the money.

So if you live in australia, or order off of bluemarx, which I can't do, or meier-audio, you can get them. Otherwise, you can't.

I wonder when (if ever) they could be in the US. If I get a good idea that they are worth $100 shipped, I will order from Jan. This australian price is strange to me (good for them though), it's just counter intuitive. They deserve to get something cheap before the US does though.

I'd like to buy a pair of these as well. Sound pretty good for the price.

If anybody can recommend a set of "open", over the ear phones (that is called circumaurel (sic) right?) with good sound balance at a similar price I'd like to hear about them.
I don't want in the ear, or on the ear, and for
now I want something easy to drive to I can avoid the expense of a dedicated amp. OK I know this will not be "audiophile" quality, but there must be something reasonable sounding out there which is readily available...

I don't get it - I've found online reviews and announcement of these phones with prices of $60US and 65 pounds UK (presumably including vat) so you'd think we could get them in USA for somewhere around that price!

If not, I'll probably also order from Jan at meier.com - but his site is not exactly credit
card friendly, which can only add to the wait for
delivery...

US$60.00 is nowhere near UK pounds 65.00

65 pounds should be about 95 bucks, which is what Jan is selling these cans for now. I'm buying a pair at that price.
