EDIT: BY THE WAY MY PLAYER IS IN FACT ROCKBOXED.
So, I personally think fidelity is affected by the 0.25% playback/pitch issue (I amconcerned both about playback and pitch) on the Clip+. I had a discussion about this on ABI with Saratoga (Rockbox developer) and some other active audiophiles.
I can't help but shake the idea that my musicianship (my perspective of music, playing, listening, analysis, general immersion in musicianship) is compromised by this. Perhaps on a subjective level. I don't want my general musicianship to be polluted by this pitch/playback issue.
They are telling me I am compulsive but I figured compulsion is tolerated here on head-fi and I trust you guys. What do you guys think? Is this an issue?
Check out the RMAA tests on ABI that I looked at as a source of reference (I start posting on the second page as Sonic Atrocity). http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48208&highlight=clip+test&page=2
I also posted about this on the Rockbox forum (under the same alias). In case you want to check it out.
