My hearing is so bad after years of blasting Meshuggah in my ears, I'm afraid to even take this test to see how bad my hearing is. :(

My hearing on this tone thing camps out at about 17k. Golden ears I do not have. tongue.gif

don't trust these test tones unless you have the gear that is capable of reaching up to 20khz. lot of headphones say they can reach up to 20khz on the specs but in reality they have a major drop at that point so i don't see how everyone is saying they can hear 20khz clear as day. must be some type of harmonics they are hearing from there source when playing certain frequencies.

for example i can hear up to 18khz on my akg 240DF but on yamaha hp-1 it only extends up to 17khz and nothing but hiss after that. i could personally hear up to 20khz(from actual test tones doctors use to test your hearing) but it's nothing special. highest frequency instruments peak at is 18khz anyways so ain't missing nothing special.

What's so good about being able to listen to sounds above a few thousand hertz? They're too high pitched for anything really,. I peak at 16kHz

It doesn't really matter, I actually find any sound above 15kHz to be annoying, but its always nice to know that you won't be missing anything atsmile.gif
