Oh thanks! Looks like I'll go buy an extra pair of RCA cables, since the reviews of the players digital out is worse than the analogue out :P

HDCD, K2HD and SACD each requires a special designed player to bring out the best sound signal.

As someone who owns many K2HD and a few LPCD CDs, I love using my Victor's K2HD Amplifier and CD player for music reproduction.

Victor is a JVC brand in Japan.

Yes, I'm actually using an over 20-year old amplifier and an old high-end CD player to produce the best sound I ever heard.

The good news is that they didn't cost me a lot -- less than a $1,000USD -- since I bought them used.

And I build my own speakers, so...

You don't have break the bank if you invest some time to learn and understand the science behind music reproduction.

Thanks for the information

I ended up buying Yaqin SD 32A CDP (~350usd?) since it was cheap with excellent reviews. Luckily it was a good choice, and the sound was much better than the laptop. Large sound stage, warm sound, deep bass.

Yaqin -> Yulong D100 -> Matrix m-Stage

It have an HDCD DAC built in, which is quite useful. However it doesnt do SACD...

Also, for some K2HD labelled disks, the cdp will also read it as HDCD, and I don't know why thats happening.
