Hippo VB/Monster Turbines + JDSLabs CMoyBB 2.0.3?

Just out of curiosity how would these headphones sound with the JDSLabs CMoyBB 2.0.3?

The VBs and MTs are low-impedance IEMs, so they'll sound pretty much the same as they do without the CMoy, just louder so that you'll need to turn the volume down wink.gif . Portable amps are more intended for on- or over-ear headphones with higher impedances and large diaphragms; cheap IEMs don't really benefit.

Will the bass improve at all?

You need to define "improve" a bit better. It will become more present with Bass Boost on, and louder, and perhaps that's what you're looking for at the moment. But other than boosting those frequencies, which most mp3 players themselves can do with an EQ, there won't be much difference in actual response/tightness/quality.

So there isnt really a point in getting an amp then?

I also have the ATH-M50s If that helps I have heard the JDSLabs amp works quite well with them.

Right, an amplifier will always work more evidently with on/over-ear headphones with larger drivers and power requirements. But cheap IEMs (in-ear earphones) are usually so easy to power that an amplifier is arguably unnecessary with them.

Alright. so what would you recommend for the ATH-M50s then? I was going to go with the JDSLabs but if you have better amp suggestions I would like to know :)

So what about the RE0 with the JDSLabs it is 64Ω plus I have heard the bass quanity on the RE0 is pretty low so with the JDSlabs It would improve the the bass right?

It would help more with RE0 than it would with MT or HVB, yes. But there's still the biggest difference noticed in larger cans instead of nearly any kind of sub-$100 earbud. I haven't used the JDSlabs amp but if it's like nearly any other cheap amp, it should be at least a decent pair with the M50.

What about the Atrio MG7's?

The MG7's do not need an amp, especially a warm one like the JDS cmoy.  I had both at the same time and preferred the Atrios straight from HO.  The MG7's don't need any bass boost and 9db's is way too much them.  The Atrios are perfect for keeping things minimal: mp3 player and IEM's only.

The other phone I had at the time of the JDS cmoy was the TF10 and they sounded great with it, especially with the bass boost.
