Essence STX/ST Hi-Fi DSP mode

Possibly a silly question, but something I need to ask.

In the driver control panel (Asus Audio Center) for the Essence ST, there is a DSP mode labelled HF (Hi-Fi mode) which according to the manual, disables all sound processing and gives a pure audio signal.

Is this mode just the same as having everything turned off in the control panel, or does it turn off extra sound processing not accessible from the control panel? Has anyone tested this?

already have asked myself the same question, dunno. I always leave have it enabled just to be sure.

While I usually leave it on as well, I really don't notice any difference when it's on or if I have everything turned off.

has anyone tried the bit-perfect ASIO driver for essence?

Ok, but wasapi isn't bit-perfect. (anyway i doubt that Essence drivers are bitperfect) :)
