Hello to One and All

Hello folks just thought I'd stop by and say hello.

I've just updated my cans from an old set of Sennheiser HD 465's, I bought several years, ago, to some Grado SR-60i's and I have to say I'm more than impressed.

I've been doing a little research over the last few days and this place looks by far the best place to grab some advice and read up.

I do appreciate good sound but I'm a self confessed noob when it comes to audio tech. I do enjoy modding PC's and taking things to bits (usually successfully) and I've had a dabble with soldering on replacement op-amps on my Creative X-Fi’s sound card plus getting a half decent set of PC speakers.

That’s about as far as I’ve got though so I’ll be quizzing you in the near future if that’s OK.

Welcome to Head-Fi! smily_headphones1.gif

If you're comfortable soldering, you might want to take a look at the DIY Forum. There are lots of excellent amps, DACs and other goodies to build. Save some money and get great sound.

Thanks Lurkamaura; I've just been having a look at the DIY sub-forum and there's a wealth of information there :)
