little confusion connecting e7/e9 to laptop.

Hey guys,

 

Just got my e7 in the mail today after being stranded with just the e9 for a couple of months. Unfortunately there is a little connection issue. I was under the impression that the e7 came included with a usb cable that could plug directly into the e9. The problem is, the input USB on the back of the e9 is not the same as the e7. Is there an additional cable I need to find so I can hook the e9 up via usb? Thank you

when the E7 is docked you connect the E9's usb cable to the laptop and the E7 uses it.
