is it worth to invest in a DAC + Amp using 320 mp3s? - Page 2

You'll notice just as much a difference getting an amp+dac with 320kbps mp3s than you would with flac.  You never really need flac.

Before you buy dac or amp for K702 try to look for any recomendations for these headphones. For me these are lack of bass.

well, you just ordered one of the most notoriously difficult to power headphones around. the K701 are infamous for requiring a very high quality and powerful amp to sound their best.

so you may want to start budgeting now for a great amp. :)

I'll do that =)

2V analog output could be ok? is there any way to figure out the amp needs of these cans (or just try and error)?

All my music is a 320 kbps mp3 format (most of them encoded with lame), I'm using a macbook pro 5.5 as source, and a modest headphones set:

- Shure shr840

- Audio technica m50

- KRK 8400

- Bose QC2 (which I'll post on ebay soon)

- Bose triport

I'm thinking in to get a DAC+Amp, but I'm not sure if I'm going to notice the change (since I use only mp3s), is it worth for me?

if yes, any suggestions about the model?

thanks in advance!

I suggest selling all your headphones and upgrading to the Shure SRH-940.

I then suggest using the money you have left over to buy a good headphone amp.

You will highly enjoy that, and then later down the track when you've saved up some money again get a good DAC.

If you want an Amp/DAC combination, I suggest skipping everything under $250.
