Just registered for a premium plan $9.90 a month. Anyone uses Spotify, get some feeback please.

Do you mean Spotify in your title?

I only have the free version, I don't want to pay for streaming. It's a great way to sample an artist or album without having to resort to piracy. Lots of songs available. I don't remember there being anything I couldn't find yet, but I haven't used it much.

Yes, I meant Spotify.

Are they safe to use ? I ask since  after I download their sofware, I received a warning of Virus infected from Win 7. and a message to scan NOW.

Out of ignorance, I did just that. Now my Google and Goodle Chrome are frozen. The WIN 7 2012 wanted my to pay some $70.00 to removed all the virus. I rejected their offer but my Internet apps are frozen .

If the Spotify web site is full of virus, please be aware and be careful .

It's not. You got a fake antivirus virus from somewhere (are you sure it was Spotify and not a phishing Spotify lookalike?) and you made the mistake of asking the virus to scan for viruses. Get some real antivirus. avast! and Avira are both good free programs. I recommend downloading Malwarebytes too, because it catches stuff my main antivirus doesn't, but it only has a scan function and no background protection.

You are right, It's not from Spotify. It's from WIN 7 2012 ( looks like a fake window 7) that alerted me to scan for virus , The WIN 7 2012  frozen my laptop unless I paid an annual fees.

I am not sure what I am going to do but I will not falter to Internet terrorists. They ain't got a penny from this old man.

If you have the possibility, I strongly recommend you to backup everything that's important and nuke the system, then make a fresh OS install, having learned from this experience.

Thank you. My son has been running the Malware bytes anti malware and I cross my finger to have my laptop back.

Freaking cyber terrorists. All you can get from me is a middle finger. MOFO,  you can try again.

System is clean. Fluck you, WIN 7 2012 . You should be in hell.

A similar thing (although not a virus) happened to me with Avast. I downloaded it from a site that charged a small fee for it. I didn't know at the time that it was free.

It turned out that this firm started taking money regularly from my credit card and over a period had taken £200 in small amounts so that I hadn't really noticed.

When I saw it one month, I tried telephoning them - no such number. I looked them up on the internet and found a UK office number. When I called, the person answering was a bit cagey and said they'd gone.

I 'phoned the credit card company who found a USA phone number and put me through. Got them!! I had a woman on the other end drawling on about support for the product. I asked her how was it legal for them to charge for software that they did not design. She said on and on, it is for support. After a lot of questions from me concerning closed UK offices, incorrect 'phone numbers I mentioned that I was going to advise the authorities in UK and USA plus the fact that the address that my card company meant that I'd be over to meet them.

She agreed to refund all of the money that they had taken from me.

So be careful with Avast - there is a company that piggy backs their software on the pretext that they sell it with support. You'll find it really difficult to get rid of them and stop them taking money when they feel like it.

iancraig10, if you had downloaded the software from the official website, there would be no such things like that, as what happened to you was not related to the product developers at all. That specific security software has both free and paid versions, which should only be obtained from secure sources, but that goes for just about anything.

Of course that situation is most unfortunate, but it's a good thing everything got solved.
