So today I finally went out and bought the ATH-M50. After a few months of researching tons of headphones and debating over various different ones (including Skullcandies, UGH!), I finally just gave up and went and got a headphone that was recommended everywhere.
I can't possibly consider to be an audiophile considering this is my first pair of headphones that aren't those JVC marshmallow things so I learned that all the fine details about sound quality don't really apply to me since I've never heard anything better.
So the M50's sound amazing and I know after some use they will sound a bit better when I get used to them. Choosing headphones is hard when you hear so many opinions about the smallest of details. Half of the time I don't even know what you're talking about because of the strange way to describe sound. So I'm convinced that these headphones are the best ever so please don't tell my anything that would make me doubt them.
And now I am leaving..forever. Because I spent countless sessions on the computer looking up strange headphones that I never heard of in search of a set that is better than what comes with the iPod. The truth is, everything is better than what comes with an iPod, so you'll be pleased no matter what (even with the Beats).
Goodbye Head-Fi, thank you for your concern about my wallet, he's doing just fine.
