Denon D2000 vs D7000

i have both sets now, and i can't tell the difference between them, both sound amazing.

Just a bit gutted i spend £600 on the D7000's now, if there is a difference i think it's gonna take a trained audiophile to tell,

For me the only reason to get the 7000's over the 2000's would be for ePeen reasons only.

what's ePeen?

Bragging rights over the net basically.  Making yourself seem more important than you actually are.

Then sell the D7000. I can hear the difference between the D2000 and the D5000, but your mileage may vary and if you can't hear the difference, then the money is wasted!

depends what amp/dac you're using i guess. i could hear a difference between the two, definitely similar sounding headphones though. it may not be worth it to you to keep them, but to me i'd always regret it if i bought the d2000 after hearing its bigger brother. so yea, if you really can't tell the difference sell them off and be £600 richer! you'll probably be happier in the long run.

Using FiiO E7/E9 combo and playing FLAC audio in foobar2000.

I owned both and my D7K blew my D2K outta the water throughout the entire spectrum.

Nolo contendere.

i'm guessing i just have poor-average hearing triportsad.gif only ever had cheap headphones before these.

Or it could be a lot of people horribly exaggerate differences in headphones.  I appreciate to hear your experience between the two.

Since OP and Croozer have the exact same equipment why don't you both list the pros and cons and explain the differences?

The mahogony cups of my D7000 definitely gives my E-peen wood!

Well with them sounding the same (in my opinion), the pros/cons would only be about materials used to build them really.

I prefer the cable on the D7000, and the shiny wooden cups are aesthetically pleasing, the box was nice, only con would be it has 6mm plug instead of 3.5mm + adaptor.

D2000's cost 3x less.

Where abouts are you based?

I was at the University of Nottingham for 3 years, but now I'm back in stinky Newark on Trent.

Long Eaton, so a fair old way.
