Static from Optical

Thread Starter

Hi,

I was wondering if it is just my computer that causes the static with the Audio GD NFD 12. When I switch to USB there is no static but once I start using the optical port I hear static. Static appears with both of my optical cable: Blue Jeans and Mono price premium. Just wondering if there is any way to solve this static issue?

Thanks

Based on what I remember; some DACs might generate static noise if there's no signal running in the TOS-link cable. Or, (for what ever reason) if a non-stereo signal is sent.

Are you sure your computer's optical out settings is configured OK / correct?

I think you get a lot of static noise and no music when you try to stream unsupported hz into optical inputs. If this happens again just change the frequency of output in computer audio setting.
