Depends on how the plug is attached to the cable. You have crimp, solder, and weld. A cable properly welded to a connector reduces shot noise. A welded cable that's been cryotreated would reduce schottky noise (defect). Cryotreatment could be bypassed if you have a properly extruded wire to minimize small crystal formation and an extensive network of grain boundaries.
